The Story Behind Waque Sports

It all started with a simple question: Why does having this much fun on the water have to cost a small fortune?

Years ago, Ken caught the water sports bug. First, it was pedal-drive kayaks—incredible on the water, but with a price tag that made his wallet wince. Then came a family reunion where Ken got to test-drive a friend’s efoil. Gliding effortlessly above the lake felt like magic, and he was instantly hooked. But when he looked into buying a pair, the astronomical price brought him right back down to earth.

Ken knew there had to be a better way to bring high-flying efoils and high-performance kayaks to fellow outdoor enthusiasts without demanding a fortune. Driven by a mission to create budget-friendly alternatives that never cut corners on quality, he dove into relentless research and traveled internationally to team up with manufacturers who shared his vision.

When Ken pitched the plan to his brother Brian and their friend Jeremy, the decision was unanimous: it was time to make waves. Together, they took the plunge and ordered their very first shipment—a massive, 40-foot container overflowing with efoils and kayaks.

That single leap of faith launched Waque Sports right out of Layton, Utah.

Since that first container arrived, we've been obsessively tweaking, testing, and listening to what riders actually want. When our customers told us traditional one-piece kayaks were a nightmare to store and transport, we listened—ditching old-school kayaks entirely to focus on modular designs that assemble in seconds and fit easily in your vehicle.

Today, Brian, Ken, Jeremy, and Gary (who joined the team early on) are still fueled by that same founding mission: crafting high-thrill, top-quality gear so you can fly across the water, pedal through scenic bays, and chase adventure without breaking the bank.
